~ Vintage Feel Of Gentler Days ~

We have a new Inspiration Avenue host for this week's challenge, Shel, and her challenge for us is "Vintage Photography" to capture the feel of days gone by. Now this, I have to say, had me stumped for awhile because i'm a painter, and rarely does my work have an old fashioned or vintage feel. I tried "aging" a couple of my paintings and the results were just OK at best; but it was when i took out an old painting that things changed.

This is a watercolor painting that i did of my daughter about 18 years ago.

Below is the painting after I cropped it and put it through a few filters and this is the result, and to my surprise, i like this version much better!!

It's not too late to join the fun & try the IA challenge, in fact why  don't you join our team? We'd really love to have you! :)

  2. Love it, Dianne! Isn't it nice to be able to manipulate a photo of a painting and make it look great? This is the first time I've done computer manipulation and I was thrilled with the outcome too!

    1. Hi Terrie! at first i wondered what you meant by PS then it dawned on me... Photo Shop! i really wish i knew how to work PS, it way too complicated for me. For this i used Picnic, which is easy peasy! unfortunatly they are shutting down in April... i still haven't been able to find a SIMPLE photo editing tool that doesn't freeze my pc.
But i do thank you for your kind thoughts and for stopping by!! :D

  8. I am genuinely impressed with this manipulated photo of your painting. It's always wonderful when you can like something better after it's been manipulated. Awesome.
